How we curate

Anyone can fill a rack. Curating is deciding what stays off it. Most of what we come across doesn't make the cut — and that's the point. Here's roughly how we think when we're sourcing.

Quality first, trend second

We look for how a garment is made before we look at what it is. Solid fabric, honest construction, seams that have held up and will keep holding up. A well-made piece from ten years ago will outlast most of what's sold new today.

Character, not damage

There's a difference between a piece that's lived a little and one that's worn out. Gentle fading, a softened collar, the drape that only comes with time — that's character, and we love it. Holes, stains, and broken zips are a different story.

Our no-list

• Anything we wouldn't wear ourselves
• Damage that can't be honestly described
• Pieces that photograph better than they wear
• Fast-fashion filler with no life left in it

If it clears all of that, it gets cleaned, checked, measured, and listed. If it doesn't, it never reaches you.
